What is Medical Objects?
Medical-Objects is an electronic messaging system that allows you to:
  • Receive reports and letters from Specialists, pathology and x-ray companies
  • Send referrals and letters to Specialists and other allied health providers using a PKI token
  • Transform your existing data into Standards compliant HL7 Messages
Designed with an understanding of your needs, wants and environment, Medical-Objects will save you time and money while helping you keep in touch with colleagues and other allied health workers.

Medical-Objects assists in the composition of medical reports and referrals and their secure transmission. Notes, referrals and reports can be accessed by the GP within seconds of the specialists completing the procedure or consultation.

Medical-Objects has all the tools and expertise to make interoperability a reality today
What are the benefits of Medical-Objects?
  • Secure and authenticated transport using Public Key encryption (PKI or PGP)
  • Uses HL7 (Health Level 7) - an ANSI standard for transmission of clinical data
  • Delivery within seconds of pathology reports, referrals, letters and notes.
  • Guaranteed delivery
  • Integrates with most popular referral writing tools. Medical-Objects plug-in for Microsoft Office allows you to use the familiar word processing environment.
  • Produces reports that import directly into programs such as Medical-Director
  • Software automatically updates when new versions are available
  • Transform data into AHML compliant HL7 Messages
  • Massage data to allow it to be imported smoothly into the receiving system, however capable it is.
  • Allow real-time status reports of message delivery
What can Medical-Objects do for you?
  • Reduce the number of times you wait for delivery of results with pathologists and other specialists. With Medical-Objects, you get the results in seconds, not hours or days.
  • Receiving results electronically and aligned to the patient eliminates time and costs associated with printing then faxing or posting
  • No more trying to interpret badly photocopied or faxed information
  • Simple and fast communication between Pathologists, GPs, Specialists and other allied health care providers.
  • Friendly support from the team at Medical-Objects
  • Save you money - many Medical Objects specialist customers report saving several times the costs involved in the system
Consulting Services
While we may be best known for our messaging Medical-Objects has a suite of eHealth related software that might help with your next project. We have an active R&D program and are passionate about advancing Healthcare through the application of innovative software solutions. The reason our messaging succeeds where others fail is related to the depth of our software framework and detailed HL7 knowledge.

We currently have the worlds first GELLO compiler for decision support like you have never seen before and have a GLIF (Guideline Interchange Format) implementation entering Beta testing. (GELLO is an ANSI standard computer language for writing decision support applications)

We have pioneered to use of Medicare Australia PKI individual digital signatures to allow truly paperless referrals. This technology is tried and proven and available for integration now.

We also have the tools required to create and edit HL7 containing complex Archetype Data. All of these tools can use the services of our SNOMED-CT server to enable the rich semantics of SNOMED-CT to be leveraged in your decision support needs. This allows you to look at those complex NEHTA specifications as a configuration exercise only!

Any use case that requires the creation, editing, delivery, or modification of HL7 data can probably be implemented by Medical-Objects in far less time and a much lower cost than you are used to.

We also have web based and hosted solutions available now. With Medical-Objects you dreams are may already be reality, please contact us, as the future may be now!

MedInfo 2007 - GELLO Release
Medical-Objects is again involved in the interoperability demo at MedInfo 2007/HIC 2007.

We are also presenting a poster on GELLO and have released demo versions of our GELLO compiler and a GLIF editor to allow a framework from which to launch the GELLO code.

We have also integrated archetypes and GELLO, using GELLO code to populate events in the editor. The archetype specification is also used to specify data structures for use in GLIF.

We have a GELLO compiler and GLIF editor available for trial use. To obtain a copy please contact info@medical-objects.com.au.

HIC 2006
Medical-Objects was responsible for all the inter-Application messaging at HIC 2006. Through the use of the flexible message transformation options, we were able to connect vendors and make interoperability a reality for the demonstration. Medical-Objects provides much more than just simple transport, that many of our competitors provide. We have the tools and the expertise to actually make it happen. If you have interoperability issues talk to us, we have the solution. Projects that failed for years in a row suddenly succeed when Medical-Objects technology is deployed.

Customer Testimonials
Internal Medicine Journal of Australia

"Recently a program embedded in word processing software has been installed that enables encrypted health level 7 emails to be sent to referring practitioners. These are automatically linked to the patient's electronic record; on review by the medical practitioner these are then filed permanently into the electronic record. This reduces the need for letterheads, envelopes and stamps and significantly reduces secretarial time per letter. Early messaging systems were evaluated; however each of these messages were too complicated to inflexible, too inefficient or too expensive to be considered useful. The final solution that has been installed is cost-effective, efficient, easily setup and more importantly allows tracking of message delivery, which was never possible with a paper based system. These attributes were realized only when seeing the systems under evaluation live."

This is from a peer reviewed Journal published by The Royal Australian College of Physicians. They have been using Medical-Objects of course!

"Medical-Objects is very user-friendly and has made the transition to computerised reporting easy. We have cut our postage costs by 70 percent by being able to send correspondence back to GP's via this program which keeps the GP in a much more 'up to date' environment with their patients care".
Linda Outen, Practice Manager,
Dr Justin D'Arcy
General Surgeon

"I have found Medical-Objects to be invaluable in terms of patient care and communication with other doctors. I have used this instant communication facility in place of the telephone on several occasions, it saves my time and it saves the specialist's time. I receive pathology results very quickly, sometimes within two hours of the patient drawing blood."
Dr Isobel Macpherson
General Practitioner,
Alexandra Headlands

"Medical-Objects is the first thing I open in the morning and is a tool that I utilise all day. I use it at multiple sites, and have come to rely on it. It makes my patient care management more efficient."
Dr Greg Seeley,
Gold Coast Specialist,
Clinical Haematologist
